Boynton Beach Dental Crown
A dental crown completely covers a tooth and can make your tooth stronger and improve its appearance by restoring its natural shape and size. A dental crown can cover and support a tooth with a large filling when there isn’t enough tooth structure left, or if you have a cavity too large to be fixed with just a filling. It can be used to attach a dental bridge, protect a weak or decayed tooth from breaking, restore a tooth that’s already broken, or cover a dental implant. A crown is a good way to cover a tooth that is discolored or isn’t aesthetically shaped.
How is a dental crown made?
A dental crown is fabricated in a dental lab. Dr. Tomalty will prepare your tooth for the crown & remove any tooth decay, and then take an impression or mold of your prepared tooth. After the dental crown is fabricated, it will be cemented onto your tooth. Just like a natural tooth, a dental crown still requires brushing, flossing, and regular dental cleanings.
